Good morning!

If it gets any hotter down here, it's going to be a long, hot summer!

Good morning, Mrs. Bear...)

Tomorrow is the first day of summer? I was a day early in my calculation...but, that's OK, I'm in no hurry.

Wishing you, and all our Hostesses, and all the Finest, a very fine weekend.

Hmmm...might be a good day for a barbecue:

I thought that today was the first day of Summer and tomorrow is the first FULL day of Summer. Could have heard it wrong on the radio yesterday, though.

Like you say, though, who's rushing it?, LOL !

HOT in Dallas today!

That's about right. That pretty much defines 'boating' season. It begins Memorial Day.

I went Thursday with a buddy to Melissa, Texas to haul his boat back to his house. Melissa is about halfway between Dallas and the Oklahoma state line. He hasn't used it in about 5 years or so. But I bet we're up on skis sometime next week !! :O)

Good morning, Mrs. Bear...)

Well, it was a better day before I found out that the first day of summer is TODAY not tomorrow! You are right, and, would you believe I even checked the calendar and still got it wrong? This should make Thin Man's day, for sure! LOL!

That barbecue looks yummy. Think I'll go get something to throw on the grill. :-)

Have a good 'first day of summer'. :-)

Did you actually hear that? This is good to know, it means I wasn't 100% wrong. ;-)

Getting hot down your way Meekie? Bet it's humid too. I love hot weather, but I can't take the humidity. When we went to Florida in July for our son's graduation from boot camp, at 9:30 in the morning it was only 80 degrees, but the humidity was awful! Never been so miserable. I guess it's something you need to adapt to.

A pastor was giving the children's message during church.
For this part of the service, he would gather all the
children around him and give a brief lesson before
dismissing them for children's church.

On this particular Sunday, he was using squirrels for an
object lesson on industry and preparation. He started out by
saying, "I'm going to describe something, and I want you to
raise your hand when you know what it is." The children
nodded eagerly.

"This thing lives in trees (pause) and eats nuts (pause)..."
No hands went up. "And it is gray (pause) and has a long
bushy tail (pause)..." The children were looking at each
other, but still no hands raised. "And it jumps from branch
to branch (pause) and chatters and flips its tail when it's
excited (pause)..."

Finally one little boy tentatively raised his hand. The
pastor breathed a sigh of relief and called on him. "Well,"
said the boy, "I *know* the answer must be Jesus... but it
sure sounds like a squirrel to me!"

in due season, how good is it! -Proverbs 15:23

" 'Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!' "
said the White Rabbit!

Mama_Bear, perhaps, operates on Goldilocks Time
there on the West Coast!
You're correct, though, in saying Summer is a State of Mind, jw,
and can be celebrated any time we choose..:))

As for me (LadyX in Wonderland),
"I'm late! I'm late!
I'm late for a very important date!!"
- - - LOL, and begging forgiveness - - -

Where's muh coffee cup and regular brew therein??
