I agree. Truman was the Jimmy Carter of his time.

I hope you are wrong about Truman and Monyihan but the evidence is unclear. Truman did not know anything about our government until FDR suddenly died. He made some very good decisions about the bomb. A lot of his advisors were on the Soviet payroll which may explain a lot of his bad decisions. He also had some very loyal patriotic people on his staff.
Our country was lucky to come out of all that in good shape.
