Dickstein introduced the bill creating HCUA--on Stalin's orders. It was supposed to, and did, go after "fascists" (anyone who was not a communist). Before HCUA, there was the McCormack/Dickstein committee which alleged right wingers were planning a Putsch against FDR.
The left never mentions thosewitchhunts.
