So, make sure they clone the cheap doctors first. That would be a start on bringing down the cost of medical care.

Science will proceed, and that's good.

Experimentation on living prisoners would probably be of use for science. Would you support that?
If not, why do you support criminals over innocent humans?

"Science will proceed, and that's good."

They may be constructing the Island of Doctor Moreau, but at least, they're not approving medical use of marijuana!

Some things are still sacred.

Cool one! Not as good as "have you stopped beating your wife?" but close.

The ability of humans to justify their own actions is amazing.

Sorry, if I consider human vivisection and experimentation to be evil.
Mengele has the last laugh, eh?

Another cool one! So people who think cloning is ok are vivisectionists? Admirable. Hat's off!

The "sorry" is a gracious touch. "So sorry if I am a humane idealist and you are an evil toad."

Err, may I ask your Humane Perfectness a question?

Is in vitro fertilization also vivisection? You know, the doctors remove the egg from the mother using a hypodermic, visualized using ultrasound, and put it into a Petri dish, and then add the father's sperm, and then reimplant the fertilized egg in the mother's uterus?

Is this also exactly the same as cutting living beings up for medical research without using anesthesia?

If the scientists used anesthesia, would that make it ok?

The probelm is the killing of the Zygote.
IVF creates life. Cloning experimentation and Embrionic stem cell research ends it.
Unlike some, I do not consider Zygotes, Embyos, or feti to be untermenchen.

Implanting DNA into an ovum doesn't end life, and you know it.

Cloning for the purpose of creating an embryo, from which stem-cells will be harvested, does kill.
Cloning itself is immoral at this point. Clones have damaged DNA, age quickly, and the vast majority fail to survive to birth. Doing this to people is evil.

Before I get too excited I would like to see the link to this statement from the AMA site, as opposed to an unsupported claim made by this advocacy group.

Please keep postings like this out of the BREAKING NEWS section... ACTIVISM would be preferable.

"Science will proceed, and that's good."

Proceed indicates progress. Killing Human Embryos is Retrogression.

I suppose you also condone Partial Birth Abortion (better known as penetrate, evacuate, and eliminate)
