He's a bit more than a bodyguard, if you're thinking of it in the Secret Service sense of the term.

How about Saddam's personal secretary or National Security advisor? Arguably, this guy was closer to Saddam than his 2 sons.

Tikriti was Sodom's 'secretary' and managed the regime for Sodom. It is highly unprobable that he doesn't possess all the information we could hope for.
