There's something about the name "Clinton" that just makes liars out of people.

America's original Clinton (his actual name) was a New York governor and vice president under Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. He was George Clinton, no relation to the current pair that uses the name "Clinton." George Clinton was the first vice president to die in office.

Byington said no charges will be filed against Stallings, who has been with the department for three years.

Uhh...why not, Chief Byington?

""The chief has been very up front with me," Aultman said. "In a lot of departments, this would have never been brought to light. But we believe there should be a definite trust between the community and the department." "

I have not been around Don Byington in a long time, but my memory of him is that this is how he would handle it, versus covering it up, etc.

"We were out searching for the alleged perpetrators," said Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin. "We could have spent our time doing something else."

Insert joke here about coffee going cold, donuts going stale, etc.

Stallings was praised for spotting a device initially thought to be a bomb under the Natchez Trace bridge

I'm guessing now that he planted this phoney bomb?
