I think you make an interesting point. People can vote with their feet when it comes to where they shop. Not when you pay taxes, though, and a good deal of that money goes to causes we may find immoral. Whether you render unto Caesar or Sears, being a good steward is a difficult task.

That is true. You must be informed. As to rendering to the government, we are to do that. It is clear from the comments of Christ that that you referenced. All we can do in that situation is pray for those who represent us, vote intelligently and contact our representatives to express our opinions which I do even knowing that Cantwell and Murray will not listen. As to the spending my money in other areas, I do have control over that.
