This article is nothing more than a bigoted attack on Sears for something worthwhile they've done!

Please tell me what is worthwhile in supporting organizations that attack our churches, our governing bodies and our family structures, all because of a chosen behavior that most of us find revolting.

Look this is America, so I guess thye can go back into their bedrooms or their closets or whateverand do vile things in private, but I don't want to hear about it or see it. I don't want them teaching their filth and perversion to my children or flaunting it in public in front of my family.

I resent Sears for spending money to advance all of the above, when they could be funding real causes like crisis pregnancy centers, or food and clothing for poor people.

One of the things homosexual advocacy groups deal with is helping victims of discrimination and violence, some of it engendered by thinking like yours. If there weren't people as judgmental and prejudiced as you, there'd be no need for the advocacy groups Sears has given money to.

I resent Sears for spending money to advance all of the above,

They are not advancing anything, they are drumming up more business. They can pretend, along with the rest of corporate America, that they are helping out various causes, various people, etc. but all they are in fact doing, is drumming up business. There isn't a large company in America that doesn't do this and pass it off as charity work.

I find it more scandulous that many companies sell goods made in China (you know, that communist nation that over the long haul will be our biggest threat) and that hardly anything is said about it. We are practically funding their long-term buildup

ElkGroveDan - HRC does not "attack our churches, our governing bodies and our family structures..." They work to promote *EQUAL RIGHTS* for the GLBT community. They have become the largest organization representing GLBT people because of their struggles and these folks want the same *rights* that any other law abiding American has!

You are mistaken when you claim "all because of a chosen behavior..." When did you choose to be a heterosexual. Just how much say in the matter did you have? Did you suddenly wake up one morning and proclaim yourself hetero?

Me thinks not. Yes you are right "this is America..." so they have the same rights you have and don't have to go back into any closet or bedroom. And why is it you have to revert to slinging accusations such as "do vile things in private..." or "...teaching filth and perversion..." GLBT people are just like those in your workplace, in your schools and in your churches. They are American's who pay their taxes and abide by the laws. (Heck, they even help make the laws!)

So stop spewing the hate and misunderstanding. A major department store chain gave a donation to a non-profit organization to help further their work. They did not fund the particular one you wanted, but then they don't have to.
