The fact is that homosexuals are a relatively afluent group. No one disputes this. In spite of all the complaining about job discrimination,etc when surveys and stats are done they are an afluent group compared to heterosexuals.

HRC Praises General Electric Co. and Unions for Adding Domestic Partner Benefits

WASHINGTON (June 19) — General Electric Co., one of the nation’s largest and oldest manufacturing and financial services companies and the owner of the NBC television network, has announced that the company’s new union contracts include health care coverage for employees’ same-sex domestic partners. The new policy, in contracts with the International Union of Electrical Works and the Communications Workers of America to be voted on June 24, would bring the number of Fortune 100 companies with domestic partner benefits to 64, according to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s WorkNet project. more

HRC Lauds Ruling that Allows Same-Sex Couples the Freedom to Marry in Ontario, Canada

WASHINGTON (June 18) — The Human Rights Campaign joined gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community legal and advocacy groups today in lauding the Ontario appeals court June 10 ruling recognizing civil marriage rights for same-sex couples. American same-sex couples are also able to wed in Ontario under this ruling. more

Five years after her son Matthew’s tragic murder, Judy Shepard spoke today at the "Rally Against Hate," held in front of the U.S. Capitol. Shepard was joined by Sens. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.; Gordon Smith, R-Ore.; Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.; Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.; Orrin Hatch, R-Utah; and Arlen Specter, R-Pa. Hate crime victim Trev Broudy, who was brutally attacked in September 2002 after hugging a male friend, also spoke to the crowd. More than 100 activists joined the senators and victims in rallying their support of federal hate crimes legislation. (June 17, 2003)

We stopped years ago. We decided that we wished to support locally owned businesses and to our surprise, we found out that their prices are more competitive than the national chains. The cost of the appliances are about the same but all the other costs are revealed up front and are always much less than the costs Sears tack on.

Is the HRC asking for the end of discrimination and equal rights or are they lobbying for special rights?

I have no problems with the end of persecution and fair practices.
