I watched this briefing on C-SPAN tonight and then the Maj Gen of the 4th Inf from Iraq afterwards!

In spite of what our reporters tried to trap them with, he gave a rather positive report on how the effort is going.

The Army has done major reconstruction of facilities as well as running down the bad guys around Tikrit.

They just found and intercepted thousands of dollars again today!

What the reporters are NOT saying is that, before the war, electricity was sporadic, at best, even in Baghdad. The wealthy (read: Ba'athists) had generators that they used, as needed.

The water problem started before we even entered the country. In fact, I saw a piece on FNC that reported that most, if not all, of the parts and equipment were outdated...IOW, rode hard and put away wet. Saddam definately was not using the "oil for palace" money for infrastructure.

Iraq is already better than it has been in over a decade.

BTW, I've been meaning to ask, have you seen anything on FR about Dr. Germ and Mrs. Anthrax failing thier lie detector tests? I have heard it reported several times on FNC, but haven't come across anything here.
