Brit Hume just ran a few minutes of video of the protests.

Where can we send money to get to the people who are going on strike on the 9th of July?

....And the leftist media would have us believe they all hate America in those parts. Turns out that some of them actually think like Americans!....
Actually most Iranians think like conservative Americans You would be surprised how well informed their protest leaders are of the "goodness of America." The hated "reform movement" in Iran is more likened to the Democratic Party in this country.

I am working on this.

There was quite a discussion tonight on Fox News about how strongly the administration can publicly support the protestors. Barnes thought the administration should have officials on television daily giving very strong support followed by military support toward the end if necessary.
Kondrake and others feared however that if we give too much verbal support to the protestors but are not willing to back up that support with miltary action, then we will endanger protestor's lives.
Everyone who has tasted or watched freedom, wants it. Comparing the Democrats to the mullahs - priceless.

Don't know the answer to your question regarding where to send $$, but I've also heard the protestors need cell phones and other ways to communicate with each other. All avenues of support need to be explored.

Looks like FOX has got the message. They seem to have something about the protests on every single program. GREAT! The Mullahs need to know that the world is watching whether they want it to or not.

We should still get other leaders of the student protest on the air.
Email FoxNews and ask them to invite:
If you want teh media to speak with true Iranian protest reps ask them to contact:
Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi
la_fleur_violette@yahoo.com She is an intellegent spokewoman for the protesters.
She is very connected, a filmaker and her father (also a filmaker) is in Evin prison right now.
She lives in the NY area.
We need more such spokespeople on the air.

Whether we say anything or not--do anything or not--the mullahs we"ll claim we are behind it. I agree with AFred, let those poor people know we know their plight and care about them.
But we must be careful not to create the impression that our military will run in to the rescue---unless we are really prepared to do that, and I do not think we are.

Kondrake is always wringing his hands about something!!!!! I can't decide whether he is a democrat or just a wimpy Rhino Republican!

Yes, but they need to contact the station in California who is sending and receiving messages directly from Iran. Even if they don't want to have their faces seen, they could at least discuss the situation intelligently. Maybe they would even furnish some clips.
I noticed that FOX was showing some clips from inside Iran as they talked.
The mullahs need to know that the way they handle this will be seen by the world. If they block everything out, we can send a preditor to record and broadcast it. The WORLD will be witness to any brutality.

Another report directly from the student protesters...
8th consecutive night of unrest starts accross Iran
SMCCDI (Information Service)
June 17, 2003
The 8th consecutive nights of unrest has started in several Iranian cities and sporadic clashes are taking already place in the cities of Tehran, Mashad, Kerman and Shahin Shahr.
Groups of young are defying the presence of the regime forces and their injunctions in order to reach rally points.
In Tehran, clashes are happening in Rey and nazi Abad were all these "desherited" (as Khomeini was naming them) who were a day a pillar of the regime feel that the time has come to get over with years of having been used. This anger has become even deeper after that the Islamic Ministry of Information stated that the "Hooligans" having destroyed the banks are all coming from southern Tehran.
Many have started to believe, sadly, about the need to arm themselves with small chains and especially Molotov Cocktails as this way seems to them as the only way to overcome of a regime supported by several European countries.
Everyone knows that the attacks against the banks were done by the regime's agents in order to make fear to the population on consequences of unrest. Even the governmental radio and TV capitalized a lot when the lootings happened in Irak on what can happen if a regime falls.

I can't decide about Kondrake either, Ernest, but if he's a Dem, he's one of the more likable fellows.
