..."homeschooling in a school district, it stands to lose millions of dollars in revenue."....

I homeschooled for 11 years and PAID school taxes from $1200 to $2200 a year depending on where I lived. I never recieved a dime of help. This is free money to the district. How can they loose?

Thank you for the ping.

We joined a homeschool national speech and debate league this year. There is also a homeschoolers National Honor Society. Last year, we visited a private school, when we were considering allowing our son to attend; they also had a debate league that does nowhere NEAR the work our son accomplished his first year with the HSed debate club. We quickly determined that he can come nowhere near the education he receives at home, in any school- private or otherwise. He is home for the duration, until college.

And believe me; we are going to be very select when choosing which college he will attend! No colleges that tell you what to think.
