I can say from living in London that britons are good people who know how to live. However, a number who I encountered were at least slightly arrogant, adolescent, and suprisingly unmotivated people - that turned me off to a lot of them. I assume taht that is extremely different outside of the cities, however, I never really got to know anyone personally out there.
Most of their attitude for America comes from their viewing it as a precocious child. They all seem to like Americans and those who have been here love it, however they don't take us that seriously because all they really know about America is what they see on TV: Homer, Springer and Tony Soprano.

"Homer, Springer, and Tony Soprano."

A thousand years from now, those will be among the wrong answers on history quizzes about the Triumvirate which ended the Old American Republic.
