Xenophobia has reached new heights with the Italian minister Umerto Bossi. He suggests firing cannons at illegal immigrants.
Bossi is the leader of the rightwing extremist party Lega Nord, and wants to implment tougher measures against illegal immigration which is increasingly a problem for Italy.
There are two ways of enforcing the law. Our ships will either confront illegal immigrants who try to sneak into land secretely, or we will have to write in black and white that violence will be used, Bossi says to the Corriere della Sera newspaper according to the AFP.
After the second or third warning, BOOM, fire the cannons. Don't talk. Or this problem will never be solved, says Bossi.
Bossi is a member of Silvio Berlusconis government as a minister of reform, and thinks that his government needs to use tougher measures in order to halt illegal immigration.

Editor's note: to uphold political correctness, recommend author change wording to read "He suggests firing cannons at undocumented workers." < /sarcasm>
LOL! That's rich, Laz!
