Really? I thought it was the moment the South
Vietnamese decided to fight less than an all out war.

The South Vietnamese didn't have nukes, could not
mine Haiphong harbor, nor could they bomb Hanoi.
We could, but chose not to.  The worst kind of war
is one that is fought half-heartedly.

As Napoleon said,  "If you going to take Vienna,
take Vienna."  In other words, don't screw around,
or you can get your butt kicked.
