If, however, we are in for a protracted period of very sluggish growth intermediate term (3-10 yrs), then I think we can say hello to President Hillary Clinton, and we will all have to work very, very hard to ensure that she does not socialize our nation.

Agree totally, and furthermore, I believe the history of presidential elections would confirm that this is indeed the deciding factor.
