Protest actions and slogans against the regime have started for the 6th consecutive night "inside" main Iranian universities and especially in the Capital despite the encerclment of these facilities by the special forces.

Hundreds of students are shouting slogans against the regime and singing the banned Iranian National Anthem.

Students are requesting the immediate release of their arested and kidnapped colleagues, the resignation of the Universities managements, the expell of Intelligence members acting as students, the public trial of those involved in the last days of repression and a Free Election on the choice of the future Iranian regime.

The students are awaiting the residents to join them later this evening and many Iranians are getting ready to come back into streets from 22:00 (local time) despite knowing all dangers and risks.

Earlier today, sporadic clashes happened when groups of plainclothes men attacked forming gathering of young Iranians. These attacked took place in the Nazi-Abad, Vali-Asr and Dolat areas simulataneously which let believe of a new startegy of the regime to spread fear before the start of what can be named as a 6th consecutive night of unrest in preparation.

Brutal militiamen and members of Intelligence used of knives, clubs and chaines but young freedom fighters have retaliated.

Several have been injured but the plainclothes men have left the scenes after their commando style attacks.

My contacts in Iran are in the demonstrations as I speak so I will watching the LA based Iranian broadcasts about the protests...

For those who are watching these, please keep posting your reports here also.

I will be in touch again soon.

Now if I were a shiite cleric, I would feel just as endangered in sunni Saudi Arabia, as I would in my own country where the people are starting an uprising against me. :-)

When you say the U.S won't help, I think you forget the profound importance of "the shot heard 'round the world.' Fact is. America challenges tyranny everyday by our existance, and we have already helped those Iranians by letting them come here and live here and learn first hand how a free, egalitarian society operates. When I hear concern that our policies might destabilize the Middle East, I smile. The very concept of America is and has always been destabilizing.

I think it's just the opposite. I think the US is committed to helping them and they will if the Iranian people need it. After all we have troops right next door in Iraq ready to go, most likely.

You base your opinion upon what? Historical reference? That is improbible because if one studies history they will find that as soon as an outside power becomes vocally involved in a internal matter of its chief rival (percieved or not) it is bad for the side it is trying to help because the other side now has a different ralling cry. It will allow the mullas to rally Iranians against the protesers by affiliating them with the US. It can divert the attention of Iranians against the crimes of the regime and to hating the Americans.

The US saying anything officially is dumb. IF the US were to use the Army that would be reeally dumb.

Thanks for the links! I just sent an Email to Fox News telling them that they should maintain their role as the best cable news network by reporting on this topic more often!

Heavy clashes rock several areas of the Capital SMCCDI (Information Service) June 15, 2003

Heavy clashes are rockin several areas of Tehran, such as, Majidie, Shariati, Haf Hose and Guisha as thousands of demonstrators have poured into streets and demonstrating against the regime.

Bullets, Knives, Chains, Clubs and Tear Gas are used against the freedom fighters who are responding with Molotov Cocktails and hand made grenades.

The situation in Shariati is chaotic and chase and runs are taking place.

Groups of young commandos have destroyed several patrol bikes units by creating traps, in dark streets, with fine Iron cables destabilizing the motorbykes chasing them.

Situation can be compared to city fight.

Many young commando groups have preferred to listen, till now, in order to avoid using guns in retaliation.

Hundreds of students are shouting slogans against the regime and singing the banned Iranian National Anthem.

This one?

Long live the Shah, our King of Kings,
And may his glory make immortal our land.
For Pahlevi improved Iran
A hundredfold from where it once used to stand.
Though once beset by the foemen's rage,
Now it has peace in his keeping sure;
We of Iran, rejoice in ev'ry age.
Oh, may God protect him both now and evermore.

If indeed so, may Iran join us in building glory for the free world.
