What about all the other nations in the world that need "libertation". The PR campaign to justify this war was based MAINLY on Iraq possessing huge quantities of WMD, period. Bush was given misleading intelligence.
I disagree, doc. What's more, I think every mainstream journalist, Dem. pol, socialist international opiner can make the case re. Saddam and WMDs based on the same INTEL available to every child on the net. It's pure politics.
Our military leaders and troops weren't pretending to be afraid of chem weapons on the way to Baghdad - they SLEPT with their masks. They were afraid. I listened to the daily briefings. I've checked the facts from CENTCOM and DoD and this military leadership has been extremely careful, professional, deliberate - while the accusers have been dishonest, untrustworthy and rash.
The day our troops liberated Baghdad, the watching world saw decades of left-wing propaganda about our military, our nation, our people de-bunked. WE were the liberators. THEY defended a monster. Our men are not pigs, Americans aren't racists, our military is more honorable than their critics - more heroic than the NGOs.
The next day we got the socialist elite turning a looting fraud into the "crime of the century" re. the museum treasures - our troops once more painted by the ACCUSERS as the bad guys - 'unsophisticated dupes of a right-wing administration more intent on protecting the oil than in defending the sacred history of the Iraqi people'. That lie helped our troops win hearts and minds at the beginning...not!
AMERICA is the good guy. America's military is honorable. America's President is courageous. The left is simply busy once more changing the subject, accusing...accusing...accusing, with a 'beam' in their own eye as big as the redwood forest.
Imho. The Dem. WMD "scandal" is one big sorelosermen leftover temper tantrum from the failed attempted election theft of 2000, with polls showing the nation waking up to them.
