This just in...
We are hearing of a MASSIVE protest against the Iranian regime is being organized for Sunday evening in Iran. This is only 10 hours away (Iran is approx 12 hours a head of us in the PST Zone).
We are hearing of entire families, neighborhoods planning on attending. Even those frightened by the regime in the past as planning to join the protest tonight.
It is expected to be HUGE!
I will report back ASAP!

Students said dozens of armed Islamic vigilantes were involved in the attack on the university dormitory. Welcome Iranian students to the fight for lower taxes, tort reform, smaller government and religious freedom.

Does anyone know whatever became of Diogenesis? Was he moved off the News/Activism thread and that's why I haven't seen his posts or am I just blind?

The statement from the White House was yesterday. Check date on the post.
You cannot blame the protestors of last night for feeling ENCOURAGED by his statements hours earlier, yesterday.
They were certainly MEANT to be encouraging, IMO. It does not mean "we're gonna send in the Marines to help you", it's more along the lines of "we'll be real happy to see you succeed."

Good. I searched on GOTTA SEE THIS and came up with last post from April 9th. Was wondering if that was due to the thread I am always on. Miss his daily pics.

I have been receiving both. But we are concerned for the people giving us reports. The government monitors all. Sometimes the calls just "drop off." I wonder why.

Thanks. In the Philippines and elsewhere, instant messaging has proven to be incredibly useful in getting real news out rapidly, and organizing rapid demonstrations, warning of imminent attacks by goon squads etc.
One person instant messages his 20 friends, and in ten minutes the whole city hears what is happening and where to go. It's too fast for security services to keep up with, but I am sure there is the risk of false rumors, and other countermeasures.

you meant that for rudder right?
YOu see, I was not correcting you in any way whatsoever. He seemed to be saying, Saturday night in the USA is Monday in Iran.
But even today, at this moment in time, on the west coast of the United States of America... it's still only Sunday, Father's Day...
and if Iran is only 12 hours ahead of us here, it would only be 1030 on Sunday NIGHT there.
If it's fifteen hours ahead of the west coast of the USA, it would JUST NOW be the early hours of Monday morning... so it couldn't have been Monday there, when it was only Saturday evening here, right?
I believe you were correct on your date and time data. I HOPE the students are right about the falling soon, of the regime of nutcakes running Iran.
Where the he11 is my world clock link?

It was late when I posted that and I didn't even notice the rightwing context.
The BBC is a half decent news source often offering coverage that is unmentioned elsewhere but their political affiliations are mainstream media.
To: Eala
The media doesn't like to report on the advancement of liberty, at home or abroad.Yep, I remember when the media gave nonstop coverage the day Hong Kong was turned back over to Chicoms. Does anybody remember how giggly and bubbly Katic Curic was during that all day celebration. How said -- that really was.
Anyway, scream it accross the internet that liberty is about to take a step of advancement in Iran.

On a further note:
I've never really paid much attention to left wing, right wing rhetoric.
I only know that until you've got your feet on the ground, you need them both. :)
