Book by Police Chief Involved in Washington-Area Sniper Investigation Listed for Internet Sale

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - A book by the police chief who helped lead the Washington-area sniper investigation has been posted for preorder sales on the Internet, despite a ruling from a county ethics commission that he stop the project.

Charles Moose appealed the commission's decision, but state and federal courts have yet to rule. Moose's New York publisher, E.P. Dutton, meanwhile listed the book, "Three Weeks in October," on Amazon.com.

Two Montgomery County Council members questioned whether Moose should remain chief because of the decision to list it.

"When you have an appeal underway and it's not been decided, I think it is a problem that he's going out to sell the book," Council member Phil Andrews told The Washington Post. "I think its grounds for us to begin considering whether he stays as chief of police."

The appearance of the chief's book for sale has further complicated an already complex situation, said council member Mike Knapp.

"The fact that a book is listed is really unfortunate," Knapp said Friday. "It really begins to force our hands."

On March 20, the commission said Moose's request to write a book and to consult on a movie project violated the county's code of ethics, which forbids employees from exploiting the prestige of public office for personal gain.

In his federal lawsuit, Moose contends that any attempt to prevent him from writing the book, scheduled for release in October, would violate his First Amendment rights.

Knapp and Andrews said they believe it will be up to County Executive Douglas Duncan to decide what action, if any, to take in response.

Duncan has stated repeatedly that he supports the chief's desire to write the book and to appeal the Ethics Commission's decision, spokesman David Weaver said.

The chief's wife, Sandy Moose, said neither she nor her husband wished to comment.

What's his book going to be about? How he captured the angry white guy who he was looking for?

Moose is an incompetent racist moron who got to his position only because he is black. Despite that, I think he will win his case in federal court. On the other hand, there is more than enough cause to fire him from his position based on his incompetence. The families of victims who were murdered after Moose knew or should have known that the perps were non-white and knowingly refused to use that information in pursuit of the killers may have a cause of action against Charles Moose.

"Moose is an incompetent racist moron."

So is his wife. I went to law school with her. She's quick to play the race card on behalf of hubby. I'll bet she wishes she had one to play on her own behalf; she's so stupid that she barely graduated. She's now a "civil rights" attorney. That means, "I'm so stupid that I can't get a real job."

Moose is qualified to consult on incompetence, socialist racism, and the results of affirmative action. If they can him he can get a job in any DemoRat political machine.

Should Hillary Clinton remain a senator? Having written a book called Living History, its veracity already in question. To treat Chief Moose’s book any less than HRC’s is just plain silly.

He got his job on Janet Reno's recommendation. Nothing more needed to know. He was fired from his position in Oregon for being a racist.........

Considering how PC they are in Oregon you can imagine just how bad he must have been.

He was not fired as police chief in Portland, but there no no attempt to get him to stay. There were no tears shed when he left.
