Abduction Attempt Is One Of Many Strange Occurrences In Vancouver

VANCOUVER - A Vancouver man is in jail after a woman watched him sneak into her home and attempt to grab her baby daughter. What is even more frightening is that it's only the latest in a series of disturbing crimes in Vancouver.

Police have requested that people living in Vancouver to start taking precautions against a rash of break-ins and assaults, and the latest break in yesterday afternoon only proves their point.

That point is not lost on the family of a little girl who was almost kidnapped.

Mike Cook is simply relieved his 13-month-old daughter Lillian isn't hurt.

"I was scared and shaking, just making sure she was okay," said Mike.

Prosecutors said that 30-year-old Jeremy Michael Wall was high on crack cocaine when he dashed into the family's Vancouver home early Thursday afternoon.

It all unfolded in front of the baby's mother, Lori Washer.

After he broke into the home and moved toward the baby girl to grab her, Lori, and Mike chased the man from the house.

"I was scared, mad, and angry all at the same time, and I didn't know if he was going to grab her and take her," said Lori.

Lillian's attempted kidnapping is just the latest in a string of crimes that have Vancouver police concerned.

In late April and early May, there have been two attempted abductions of teenage girls. Then there were three different assaults.

One involving a hotel maid that was shot with a taser gun, two others involved women that were attacked inside their apartments.

And on Thursday night, two chilling reports of homeowners waking up to find suspected burglars in their bedrooms.

"The patterns are different. Some of them are associated. But all-in-all we just kept pulling them up and noticing that we have had a marked increase in stranger assaults," said Lt. Marla Shuman. "It's unusual for Vancouver."

Lori washer plans on being extra-cautious with her child knowing Vancouver have been the victim of a rash of break-ins and assaults.

"From now on I will be keeping her at my side," said Lori.

To read the press release from the Vancouver Police Department that speaks about the unusual rash of problems in the city.

Perhaps, maybe, I am sure if you gave them guns this would not happen?

Colt 45, it equaled the west.

This is what happens when a city becomes an open house for drugheads, illegal aliens, and so-called asylum seekers.
