Not at all. Unless history revisionism is the objective, the definitions are quite clear.
There were no "Jews" until the small remnant of the 3 tribes which made up the Southern Kingdom of Israel returned from Babylonian captivity. That was around 500 BC, and nearly a thousand years after Moses and the 12 tribes of Israelites did their thing in Egypt. The members of the larger "10 tribes" of Israel which made up the Northern Kingdom were never called Jews.
Therefore, Moses, David and the 5 Million others before the Davidic Kingdom split were not Jews, just plain old Israelites.
