The Times obituarary on David Brinkley includes the following:

As part of the Huntley-Brinkley team, Mr. Brinkley held forth from Washington, while Huntley, a saturninely handsome correspondent who was given to punditry, reported from New York. The chemistry between the two, thanks largely to the controlled astringency of Mr. Brinkley's commentary, gave the broadcast a dominant place in the ratings, overtaking Mr. Cronkite's evening news program on CBS in two years.

In order to assure readers that it has stopped featuring plagiarized articles, the Times has obviously ordered writers to adopt a style unlike any other paper that utilizes overly complex, run-on sentences as above, which approach being incomprehensible and are actually unreadable. It is clear the Times writer did not lift the above sentence from another source, as it is doubtful that it would pass review by any competent editor. The former newspaper of record is becoming the newspaper of the obscure.

Once again the "media" demonstrates its arrogance.

"Journalists" are not the story. Their lives and deaths are only significant to their loved ones and colleagues.

For the "media" to thrust this type of story on us demonstrates its insufferable conceit.
