You have no proof of that. Most Freepers who share your opinion will tell you that you can't conclusively claim there is no genetic component. And I am sure you can show otherwise, right? Then do it. Put up or shut up.

Yes. Saying there is "NO GENETIC COMPONENT" means that they fully understand human genetics and there is absolutely no chance of a genetic component, which is a bunk claim. You don't have to take my word for it, just read the threads. I can't prove that there IS a genetic component, but you can't prove that there isn't.
Do your own homework.
There are well thought and researched posts on FR about homosexuality, but none of them have come from you.

I can't say there is much I agree on with Qwerty about. However, I do think their may be some genetic "predisposition". WHAT??? What do I mean by predispositon? Do I mean a Homosexual Gene? NO!
A predisposition in personality/temperment. Anyone who has ever had children realizes the very first day that their little bundle of joy has a personality. Some are screamers, some whiners and both of mine were whimperers (THANK GOD) and I'm sure there are many other kinds.
Other than that though everything else is LEARNED BEHAVIOR.
Children must be taught their gender.
Children must be taught gender relations (Daddy & Mommy)
Children must be taught their sexuality.
The above two greatly contribute to this.
Children must be taught respect for others sexual privacy.
Everyone knows children live in their own universe ME & MINE & CURIOSITY RULES.
Most of those things must be learned before puberty. Everyone here ought to know how confusing puberty is let alone being unclear about any of the above.
When a sexual predator interferes, even a loving family environment cannot fix ALL the damage done.
Hetero/sexual disorders, including same sex attraction, isn't a "conscious" choice but it is not the product of a completed childhood. Dysfuntional (mild to extreme) families are the largest contributing factor.
If their is a genetic "factor" it is very small indeed and can be outweighed with completing everything a child needs to learn in their upbringing.
