I know this is an inappropriate comment at this time, but I always felt that Gregory Peck was an overestimated actor. In other words, he just wasn't a good actor. His range, as they say, was a to b.

IMHO, his most significant "contribution" was to help defeat a splendid Supreme Court nominee by spreading false accusations about him.

He had a great acting voice and powerful presents (presence? hmmmmm) on stage. Acting abilities? I never noticed it. One of the worst I've ever seen in Tom Cruise. Same character every time he acts.

today's (aledged) actors can't hold a candle to his generation.
