Kind of reminds me of the crap the Dems tried in the Coachella Valley. They re-drew the lines for the assembly district so as to remove Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert and Indian Wells(highly Republican cities) so as to create a Democratic assembly seat in the valley.

Well, their candidate, Joey Acuna, a labor organizer, was supposed to beat the Republican candidate, Bonnie Garcia, quite easily. A funny thing happened on the way to the polls. They underestimated Bonnie, and she beat Joey.

Next, Herb Wesson, Democrat hack and Assembly Speaker, appoints Acuna to be his representative in the Coachella Valley to take care of all the constituents that the Republican legislators were elected to handle. I guess Joey needed a job until the next election, so Wesson is paying him around $40k a year to remain in the limelight until then. Some limelight. The local paper has mounted a major campaign against Acuna, Wesson and their BS. Now, you can't find a person with a nice word to say about Acuna. Poor guy. He couldn't get elected dog catcher. Just the same, he doesn't even have enough pride to resign his position.

His wife, by the way, works as an aid to the Dem state senator, Denise Ducheny. We got stuck with her in the Coachella Valley because in order to get a Dem senator, they had to gerrymander a senate district that took in parts of San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties.
