hence the reason I mentioned it on FR ... yeah, he was kinda dressed like the guy in Clear and Present Danger who intercepted the CIA vehicles (black helmet IIRC) but the bike looked a lot like a regular Harley that the Highway Patrol would ride ...
it was just plain weird ... if he had pulled over a car or a semi, or stuck with a semi, I wouldn't think it that weird ... probably nothing, but thought, raise awareness and have a little fun at the same time ...

Sometimes Funeral processions have unmarked cycles with riders resembeling patrol officers doing traffic control. Here in Calif. we see them all the time, you have to take a second look because there appearence looks just like your local highway patrol officer.

well, we thought about that too ... but no hearse ... wouldn't have mattered 'cuz the hearse would have needed a 426 Hemi with a 6-71 supercharger / nitrous oxide to keep up with this guy once he hit the gas ...

If he was weaving in and out of traffic, and making the drivers slow down with his siren and lights, that's very common here in Southern California. There is a name for it, it may be called splitting traffic but I don't remember exactly what it's called.

Funerals in LA typically rent real cops with their real motorcycles for the motorcade. Just another way to supplement the officer's income, increase safety, and it also gives the cops an opportunity to do some training. Yeah, that's it. Training! And if someone tries to bust up the motorcade, you have a real cop with real peace officer authority right there to persuade them.

possibly, but I've never seen them do that hear ... but there was a lot of traffic ... it was about 3:00 p.m. or so ... then he took off eastbound on I-70, away from the metro area ...

Okay, I live in the KC area (Leawood, KS) and know the interstates well - I WANT DETAILS!!!
Where did all of this take place? I left KC Ballet (16th & Broadway) Wedsnesday about 3:00 pm and took 71 highway south.
I would love to know the details, and did Larry Moore have anything to say about it?

I almost never watch the local news ... so I don't know if they commented ... first time I saw the guy was at Lakewood and 470 ... he then got off on the next Lakewood exit, repeated the same thing, then continued to 40 highway, did the same thing, then took I-70 towards Blue Springs ... I was rounding the cloverleaf for I-70 westbound when I last saw him ...
Leawood, eh? ... nice town ... except that red light camera in front of Houlihan's ... I've not paid that much attention, I just noticed when it went in ... Houlihan's used to have a great steak there ... and I miss On the Border's chicken-cheese-pico-red cabbage tacos ... they took 'em off the menu ... there ought be a law! 8) ...

OK,, try this on for size:
Maybe he was a funeral escort bike waiting for the funeral procession,he was probably getting nervous about exactly where he was supposed to pick up the procession and finally figured it out.
lizma: Shriner Harley's are white. I can be very sure of that. :-)

My guess is, he was just a nut. A dangerous nut, but a nut nonetheless. Report it to the authorities.
