The ad ended with the "Saudi's - your friends against terrorism". Makes one want to hurl.

>>Meaning well doesn't help if you are half-witted. <<
Well, even though I do not support some of our President's policies, I disagree with your assessment of George Bush's intelligence. I believe that he is a shrewdly smart and courageous leader. I would call him honest, too, since I've not seen any evidence to make me think otherwise, thus far.
The Saudi/Wahabbi issue is a sensitive diplomatic one, because of the interests of the Western oil industry and the American dependency on Saudi oil. (Iraq's oil may solve this problem.)

Well, that certainly proves your money flow theory! Even the more conservative Fox News cannot resist.
Grover Norquist stomps around the country claiming that Wahhabis make good conservatives. He also claims that George W. Bush was elected in 2000 because he (Grover) summoned the Muslim Wahhabi vote. I guess this brings in a conservative voting bloc issue, too.

I think a lot of the silence is fear. Moderate Muslims could be killed for exposing Wahhabism for the evil religion it is. (if you wish, you can see my post #39 about the CAIR death threat.) Also, they don't have the financial resources to make themselves heard.

Here are some exerpts from a Web site about the Yahya Hindi pic on the page you referenced.
US attempts to win over Muslim hearts and minds
By Tahir Mirza WASHINGTON, Nov 16:
"The United States, confronted with widespread unease in the
Islamic world over its military campaign in Afghanistan,
has launched a massive effort to win over the hearts
and minds of Muslims. "
"As part of this Muslim
outreach campaign, the opening prayers for Thursday's
session of the House of Representatives were read by Imam
Yahya Hindi of Georgetown University to mark the
beginning of Ramazan. "
"On Monday, President George Bush will
play host to ambassadors from OIC countries at an
Iftar dinner at the White House and Secretary of State
Colin Powell will also organize a similar gathering
later during the month. This will continue a tradition
begun during the Clinton administration."
"Ramazan itself has
posed problems for the US campaign (to win hearts), with Muslim leaders (who elected these people as leaders?)
urging America to initiate a pause in its bombing of
Afghanistan. The US had so far held the view that it could not
halt the bombing ..."

Thank you. I'm glad someone has some sense on this thread.
Many of these ideologues get their marching orders from DNC or the Greens to come here to spout off their faux-conservative nonsense.
To: Cultural Jihad
BS
RLK is a known conservative writer and has been for years, unless you think writing hundreds of pages of material is simply behaving as a "sleeper."
Because you hate everyone who isn't a religious authoritarian doesn't mean they aren't conservative.

I hold no hatred for anyone; perhaps you are projecting. My post didn't mention RLK, by the way.

this looks like a cuddly scheme promoted by our own state department to attract muslim terrorists to our nation. Look at the headline. "Muslim life in America." See the warm picture of the kids and parents in the playground. Ya'll come now ya hear.' " See how much fun and peaceful it is in America.
The horrorific fact exposed here is that Islam is the fastest growing religion in our nation. When I think Islam in America, I see a city bus on mainstreet USA loaded with innocents just blown to smitherines by these "cuddly cute" folks from the playground.
If Islam is the fastest growing religion here, then muslims are migrating at untold rates and are being encouraged to do so by our own state department.
There's something wrong with this picture.

Yes, and it is that your perception of reality is distorted. People come to America because it is a fun and peaceful place to raise their families. Where they come from has been bruised for centuries with internecine/tribal/ethnic/caste/class warfare, and here they are free to raise their families in peace away from all the haters ... except for those native-born bigots who choose to bash their valid religion.
To: Cultural Jihad
How fortunate for ideologues that all they have to complain about are some State Dept. webpages honoring a valid religion's adherent's 1st Amendment right to the free exercise of their religion in America. Why is it the business of our state dept to "honor" or promote any religion?
Horse manure on validity. Any religion that teaches their kids to hate is not valid.
