Oh, yeah...when I was a child, among the Popeye cartoons that the local TV station (OK, it was out of Joplin, Missouri, and I was in Bentonville, Arkansas) played in the afternoons was at least one of WWII vintage. I remember the closing line of a song from it ("You're a sap, sap, sap, Mr. Jap"), and I'm sure that it included very politically incorrect depictions of Japanese soldiers. I'm equally sure that they wouldn't dare show it on TV today.

That song was also a Decca 78 (with no mention of the cartoon or Popeye on the label). The axis powers also broadcast racist jazz parodies to allied ears to challenge their resolve.
