Have you ever seen that photograph of the lighthouse that is completely surrounded by water and the waves are crashing all around?

I have. I didn't realize it was in France. It's amazing what some of these lighthouses have endured successfully!

I might be wrong but for some reason I'm thinking it's a lighthouse in France. Maybe on the northern coast? I would think it's automated now but way back when I would imagine there was an actual person keeping the light. I can't imagine trying to take a boat there and back to bring in provisions. Much less being in a boat that needed to follow that lighthouse. Whew!
