Good evening Diva.

The sun has set for the day. In the distant I hear the train whistle blow. This train hauls coal to the energy generating plant on the East Shore of the near by lake.

I love hearing the lone sound of a train whistle.

When I was a child we lived in very remote country land in a valley. We could hear the sound of the steam engine's whistle blowing from many miles away. It was an interruption in the air from the usually quiet of solitary rural life.

Memories from long ago. :-)

I have been looking for the Dragon poem and have no success yet. I'm sure there is a copy floating around some where probably in amoungst my mother's things, she saved all my work.

I will continue the search.

No rush on the poem, bentfeather.

That was a nice story and it felt like I was there. I remember when we used to visit the farm (my father sold it a long time ago), there was a train that would load and carry the sugar canes to the mill. We would watch all the kids sitting on top of some cars chewing on those sugar canes. I also enjoyed watching the workers (called sacadas) harvest the crops while we would be running around playing with their children. We would go to the river for a quick swim until it was time for my siblings and I to go back to the city. That was one nice memory from long ago.
