[history]
Gov. Gray Davis' May budget revision at least answers one question: Whatever happened to Enron's accountants? By every indication, they're alive and well and hard at work on the state budget crisis.
How else can Davis claim that he is cutting more from the state budget than any governor since 1945 while adding $2.2 billion in new spending to his January budget proposal?

Twas I, Ernest. Thanks for posting. Dan Walters from the Sac Bee has a good column also in the Register about the recall.

I'm getting a little annoyed at the media's continued reference to all things screwy in finances as "Enron-style". Unless they make direct comparisons, it just seems like lazy reporting (or commentary). By this logic, all governments here in the U.S. are guilty of "Enron-style" book cooking.
My guess is few writers even know what Enron did wrong. They just know it was "bad", and it had to do with money.

Love the title of this piece. And guess which politician was the #1 top numero uno above-all-others recipient of campaign donation moolah from (spit) Enron? Gotta be some eeeeevil (spit) Republican, right?
Nope: Gray Davis. None other.

THIS guy should be our next governor. He writes with commonse sense and clarity. None of that political BS. Tom McClintock would be a vast improvement over Gray Davis.

I encourage everyone to take a look at his site and check out his works and writings.
Let Issa spend the money for now ad use his name recognition to run forthe Senate.
Tom has lived thru this whole state budgetary debacle and has both the experience and the proposals to turn this state around, but he needs all the Republicans and other sane folks support, now and in the 2004 General Election as we throw all the socialist demRats out of office.
Agreed! We could not do much better than this man.
