ImClone Systems founder Sam Waksal was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison Tuesday for an insider-trading scandal that ensnared his family and threatens Martha Stewart and her home decorating empire.

HE ALSO WAS ORDERED to pay more than $4 million in fines and back taxes.

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley rejected Waksal’s plea for a lighter sentence based on ImClone’s cancer research, Waksal’s humanitarian works and the intense media interest surrounding the case.

87 months? Is that so the average moron won't figure out that it's 7.25 years? . . . minus time already served plus good behavior . . . he'll be out in 6 mos. with a book deal and a "special" consultant job.

So much for the whiners supporting Martha and saying nothing will happen to the big guys!

Liz, how much do you think that Waksal and Martha will be donating to the Hildebea$t and the DNC this year and for the next 7 years?

???????????????????????

Under what market theory is it a good idea for those with access to information tending to influence the performance of a particular stock be allowed to act on that information before it is made available to all investors?
