She was chewing gum in public? EEEEEEW. Tacky.
(Yes, I am totally serious.)
Many of us sometimes chew on Nicarette gum. (to try to stop smoking) Wonder if Hillary's gum was some other compacted form of bad habit that she needs to quit doing. (or maybe Hillary just loves Bazooka)

Compacted Bad Habit would be a GREAT name for a band!

LOL! As long as it is not Compacted Bad Hobbit!

I asked someone last week to "please stop excerpting articles when it was not necessary."
I got jumped on by 3 or 4 posters.
Even when I posted verbatim the home page exclusion to only exerpting articles from WTP and LA Times--there was not a lot of love in the room.
There are numerous reasons why the excerpting of articles stinks!
- pop up ads (of everything from "Yeast Infections" to "Bling Bling Jewelry!"
- embedded links
- links that don't work or are removed
- lag time and modem crawl
Did I miss any?

Andrea Peyser writes like a Freeper! Wonderful! I've seen the name but had never read any of her articles. I'll have to look for more, this was great!

Yeah, you missed two:
-Deleterious effect on FR archives (we'll have a bazillion preserved discussion threads with no CONTEXT, since the linked site will have long ago stopped hosting the original article).
-The end of FR's role as media watchdog. Example: last week's smear of Paul Wolfowitz by the Guardian. We had two very lively threads going about that, and Praise God, someone posted the full text of the Guardian article here. Because the Guardian ended up yanking the story that very afternoon! Since it had only ever appeared in the online edition, we'd have had NO PROOF of what the Guardian had (deliberately) done, and the discussion would have been drastically cut short.
Do these excerpters ever stop and think?
Makes me want to bite their heads off, as if they wuz chocolate bunnies...:D

Forgot one more--SPAM. Some papers force you to register before you can read their $#!t online, and then they've got your email address. I won't play.

Sorry to have gone off-topic here, kattracks, but really-- NO ONE posts more articles here than you and JohnHuang2, and you always do it correctly, and I simply don't see why the new crop of Excerpting Newbies can't follow the example you guys have set.
I've even heard "it's too much trouble to format the entire thing" as an excuse. It's not an excuse *you've* ever used...

"Gosh! It's good to see you again!" she said, over and over. And this phoney political gimmick worked on how many stupid New Yorkers? I hate to think of all the Hillary constituents who succumbed to all the bug-eyed hype.

You know the funny (and tragic) thing about DUers is how much venom and bile they have. Which is of course completely contrary to the picture they have of themselves as wonderful, warm, kind, human beings. There are obviously haters on both ends of the political spectrum, but these severely reality-challenged unfortunates do not realize how they presenting themselves to the apolitical lurkers of the internet who are just looking for some information or yuks. A few Duers have pointed this situation out to the mass of the leftist nutballs who infest that site. Naturally their protestations have no effect on the majority who are decidedly unaware of how nasty they appear to the average web-surfer. But I guess to be a leftist you have to lie to yourself on a daily basis anyway. Self-delusion is their stock in trade.
