US Secretary of State Colin Powell has welcomed Israel’s dismantling of outposts. According to Israel Radio, speaking at the Organization of American States General Assembly in Santiago, Chile, Powell said he was pleased that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is keeping his commitment made at the Aqaba Summit.

Powell said he hopes Israel would be able to remove the outposts in a peaceful way, without any violence.

“We have to keep moving forward -- even in the presence of violence of the terrible kind we saw over the weekend on the part of Palestinian terrorists, and even in the presence of demonstrations,” Powell said.

Were you also "pleased" with the terrorism perpetrated by the PLO and its terror groups against Israel? Or is terrorist Abbas moving forward as well?

“We have to keep moving forward -- even in the presence of violence of the terrible kind we saw over the weekend on the part of Palestinian terrorists, and even in the presence of demonstrations,” Powell said.

Really? So why did you let Osama Bin Laden stop your negotiations? Why does the US not do the same as it tells Israel?

CHENEY: "With such an enemy, no peace treaty is possible, no policy of containment or deterrent will prove effective -- the only way to deal with this threat is to destroy it completely and utterly, and President Bush is absolutely determined to do just that."

Sad to see Israel going backwards, all because of the arbitrary demand of the United States based on the irrational demand of the Arabs.

"Were you also "pleased" with the terrorism perpetrated by the PLO and its terror groups against Israel?"

The almost exact same sentence came out of my mouth after reading the globalist butt-kissing pig Powell's comments and before reading your post. The State Dept. is screwing the pooch big here; but, ultimately, the buck stops at Dubya's desk. The entire handling of this situation is 100% duplicitous and cockeyed.

So do these guys have such huge egos that they think they can just make this happen? Do they (Bush admin) think that once they get over this perceived 'hump', the pre-map violence, that this is going to work out?

Do the egos of people in power know no bounds?

Powell, the PLOs defender within the adminstration. The roadmap is his idea. When it fails, Powell should resign.

Good luck. He didn't resign after his road to the U.N. fiasco. Perhaps he shares Hillary's! penchant for blaming others for his mistakes.

I'd almost be OK with this if the CIA could join with Mossad and have open season on anyone of, speaking for, or appearing to even be associated with the terrorist groups Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Aqsa.

But we know the State Department isn't capable of being serious about hunting the killers. On the other hand, they're always serious about asking Israelis for concessions.

I'm embarassed to call the State Department my own.

Powell stated on implication of the Road Map that Israel would not have to deliver if the Palestinians do not. By stating that he now is pleased with the Israeli's delivering land for what the Palestinians have not done shows that his goals is the destruction of Israelis sovereignty, not peace. To pay terrorists for terrorism only gets more terrorism.

The Palestinians have failed on all ten points that they were suppose to implement before Israel was required to respond. Powell is a liar. It is time for Israel to burn the road map and give Powell the finger.
