Sister Stella Goodpasture of the interfaith council said her organization had surveyed its 25 member congregations throughout the county and found that people are willing to "pay increased taxes to make sure that their neighbors have needed services."

Well, there's the best idea I have heard yet!!
Let those people who want to pay more taxes have the option of paying as much as they want. And let the people who would rather keep the money they earn in order to provide the best they can for their own families pay less taxes! This is a truly fantastic idea - - it should go on a referendum!

(Umm....surely Sister Stella is not suggesting that the people who want to pay more taxes should also be able to force those who do not wish to pay more taxes to have to pay them anyway? Nah.... Sister Stella would have to be a really selfish and hypocritical scumbag to believe that.)

You know, the good Sister Stella is such an advocate of increased taxes I propose repealing the tax exemption for organized religion. Maybe she'll get enlightened if she once the government with holds funds from HER paycheck.
