SACRAMENTO (AP) - They bickered, they battled, they banged out 469 bills in four days.
In the colorful lawmaking spectacle that shapes California for better and worse, the California Legislature last week cracked down on rowdy sports fans and music moguls. It gave test-fearing high school seniors a reprieve and offered marriage-style rights to gay and lesbian domestic partners. It tried to get sales taxes from online shoppers, then made it criminal to jump long airport lines to escape security.

But isn't it easier to just let the Gov't handle every aspect of our lives, cause they do know what is best for us.
We could have a "Brave New World" if we let the Gov't raise us from cradle to grave.</ sarcasm >

How are we supposed to keep up? You know what? I hope they double it next session. They are utterly ridiculous to people like us but we need more Californians to wake up.
The other day I was listening to KNX and someone did one of those op-ed essay bits. He said SURELY the legislature has passed a budget. Otherwise they wouldn't have time for the likes of Senate approves amnesty for ferret owners. But no. 469 bills later, and renegade ferret owners satisfied, we still don't have a budget.

"469 bills in four days."
---
God help us! I bet not a one is useful, and all are tax and spend and restrict our individual rights.

"Another allows voters to pass local infrastructure bonds with 55 percent majorities instead of two-thirds votes."
---
This is horrible!!! It nullifies a previous bill passed long ago, which tried to curtail the infinite number of bonds, by requiring a 2/3 majority to pass them. So here is another example, when they got around the will of the people by this sneaky bill, lowering the requirement, without putting it up to the voters.
If the Republican Party doesn't get its act together in California soon and start taking control, there won't be a state left, everyone will move out of state, except the welfare recipients, then where are they going to get their revenue?

Truly frightening!
There should be a law on how many laws that can be passed!

The state of California finally instituted a high school exit exam and the "Education" governor signed it. ooops most kids in LA couldn't pass it so now they want to get rid of it. My high school sophomore passed this exam ( while fighting the flu) missing only 2 questions...so what does that tell us? No wonder California is ranked 50th in education

I'm sure that each of these 469 new bills are new ways to screw the taxpayers of of California to reward the dark side voting cults with our tax $'s.
Freddie the FreeLoader would have loved today's California.

The Senate will consider 900 Assembly bills. Those bills, dealing with every subject imaginable and poured over by a Capitol army of lobbyists and interest groups,...The writer of this article needs my help with his spelling. :-)
