Not if there's another murder or disappearance similar to Laci's and that of Kristin Smart on 25 May 1996 while Scott Patterson is in custody, with police and prosecutors having ceased investigating previous suspects in hopes of pinning the murder on the high-visibility and generally detested husband. In that event, most anything could follow.
Of course a smart perpetrator would cease to operate for a while and let Scott take the rap for him. But if he's a driven psychopath, and the right female opportunity comes along, he might not be able to control his urges.
