Yeah, but that's Michigan ! :-) Where we had Engler for 12 years, have possibly the best Supreme Court in the country(Markman, Taylor, Young, and Corrigan, sometimes Weaver), a GOP state senate since 1984, state house since 98, GOP secretary of state since 94, and a GOP Attorney General for the first time(2002) since 1954(Frank Kelly was AG for over 40 years). We also have a majority GOP congressional delegation of 9-6, with a chance for 10 if Stupak(whose safe) goes statewide(That's a swing seat on the level of the Michigan or Indiana's old "bloody 8" if that ever happens.)
We're more than Detroit.(although we have to overcome a 267,000 defecit there to win - Bush lost by 217,000.) The good news is that many dems don't vote down the ticket.

I know, you're right. My state, alas, is a banana republic. Fixed to prevent Republicans from attaining statewide or judicial offices (which are all "selected" by the legislature and leftist trial lawyers). A fixed, gerrymandered 'Rat minority holding majority control of said legislature. The GOP hasn't had a majority of any of these offices (aside from the brief "accidental" Congressional majority) since the 19th Century. Allow for competitive elections, an accountable court (one of the worst in the nation, just about tied with FL & NJ), and fairly-drawn lines, and there would be a massive shift to the GOP. Alas, with a 'Rat Governor succeeding a treacherous RINO who kept the corrupt old system in place, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. :-(
You may have a Commie Senator in Lenin (sic), but we have a Communist-style uncontested one-party state government. Stalin would love it.

(~Remember, it's not sporting to fire at RINO until charging~)
