True. In fact, just the opposite. Nothing but great experiences.
Just one example. When my child was burned, she was rushed to an out of network hospital, then transferred to a hospital specializing in burns, also out of network. Later when she returned for skin grafting, the HMO wanted us to go to their network hospital. We appealed, asking that we be returned to the place that best knew the case and the HMO granted our request. My entire out of pocket cost was $10.00 for two $5.00 patient ID bracelets.
Again, that's just one incident. In more than 20 years I have never had an unsatisfactory HMO experience and I've been with several over that period.
