I recall this was the guy who was ready to float the "Monica is a stalker" stories before the blue dress surfaced (good thinking, Linda!). So, I really have no sympathy for him. Besides, there's a joke aspect to the "have you stopped beating your wife" comment. It's the classic lawyer trick designed to make you look guilty whether you answer "yes" or "no". Many folks don't take the question literally. Tweaking him about the whole Drudge thing would be funny to me. But, then, I once yelled "No Blood For Sex" at a Clinton rally, so what do I know?
Right you are. He of all people does NOT deserve sympathy. (Rather, Juanita Broadrick, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Sally Perdue, Elizabeth Ward Gracian, Billy Dale, etc. deserve sympathy.)
No offense intended to you and sorry if I came off too harsh. I just hope that Blumenthal's next suit isn't against a FReeper, but is against the GAP for selling him a blue sportcoat with a stain.
