"As much as I hate to say it the dems are going to keep working this.
I was watching this at FARK this morning and the usually fairly conservative crowd there was waffling."

I agree. And that is why it is critical that the Repulicans refute them at every turn, showing that the Democrats themselves were convinced based on the same intelligence, that Saddam had WMD. And the Republicans must not allow the Dems to have hearings to turn this into a witch hunt. If we don't nip this in the bud, the chorus is going to get louder and louder and may ultimately damage Bush, which is the intent of the Democrats, of course.
Just as the Democrats and liberal papers literally drowned out out phenomenal success in Iraq, by putting the museum looting story on front pages for weeks, when it ultimately turned out to be total fabrication, they play it on page 9, in the meantime, what people remember, is the looting story, not the toppling of Saddam's statue.
The "lying about WMD" accusations are much more serious, and unless the Republicans agressively refute them and counterattack, it will seep into public consciousness.

Although, the flip side
of all this is, if we find
really bad weapons,
then the war critics
will be totally undone.
Let's hope we find them.
