Activists Demand That Senator Stop "Waffling on Welfare" Washington, D.C. - About 200 low-income leaders, including 100 from New York City, gathered on Sen. "We're here because Hillary lied to us," says Rosa Rodriguez, a member of Families United for Racial and Economic Equality (FUREE), one of the NYC-based groups who traveled here today. "She told us she wouldn't support increasing work requirements, but now she's signed on to the Carper-Bayh bill. I'm disappointed in her. She's supposed to be representing us."
