Why is the Weapons of Mass Destruction even an issue? Saddam's alleged involvement in terrorism against the US was enough of a reason to go to war.

Because the administration's main argument for going to war was Sadaam's WMD. There was almost daily PR trips to the podium by either Bush or Powell harping about WMD. Do you remember Powell's speach to the UN? There are many countries that harbor and/or support terrorism. Why don't we attack them? I still can't get an answer for why we don't attack North Korea.
This administration acted upon misleading foreign intellegence, which is a very sad commentary.

Actually since we were attempting to go through the UN..and Iraq's WMDs were the central issue with UN inspections and sanctions..this therefore necessarily became a central focus.
But any one of these issues were enough to get rid of Saddam.
