Clearly these were icecream trucks. Scrubbed meticously clean to remove any evidence of. . . Saddam Hussein's secret new ice cream flavor.

Why is the Weapons of Mass Destruction even an issue? Saddam's alleged involvement in terrorism against the US was enough of a reason to go to war.

The depth of dissent is hard to gauge. Even if it turns out to be a minority view, which seems likely, the skepticism is significant given the image of consensus that Washington has projected and the political reliance the administration has come to place on the mobile units.Silly me, I actually thought that some of the bias would be gone once Raines left.
I was dreaming.

"Everyone has wanted to find the 'smoking gun' so much that they may have wanted to have reached this conclusion," said one intelligence expert who has seen the trailers and, like some others, spoke on condition that he not be identified. He added, "I am very upset with the process." Heh. This could be the janitor, for all anyone knows ;).

Well, the trucks appeared stripped to me, of everything not bolted to the frame.

Obviously, just another camo baby milk factory - on wheels this time.
Has someone notified the expert - Peter Arnett?

Because the administration's main argument for going to war was Sadaam's WMD. There was almost daily PR trips to the podium by either Bush or Powell harping about WMD. Do you remember Powell's speach to the UN? There are many countries that harbor and/or support terrorism. Why don't we attack them? I still can't get an answer for why we don't attack North Korea.
This administration acted upon misleading foreign intellegence, which is a very sad commentary.

Actually since we were attempting to go through the UN..and Iraq's WMDs were the central issue with UN inspections and sanctions..this therefore necessarily became a central focus.
But any one of these issues were enough to get rid of Saddam.

Exactly. If they were legitimate and innocent, why were they scrubbed clean?
To: Shermy
The trucks were stripped of evidence and burried as all ice cream trucks are treated all over the world.

Iraqi scientists have said the trailers were used to produce hydrogen for weather balloons![](http://us.news1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20030602/i/1054590043.2147967012.jpg)
Yeah, right, weatherman are going to haul around these babies to produce "hydrogen" for "balloons" at launch site locations rather than just buy a few tanks of the stuff filled up at a processing facility.
The innuendo of NYT's "unnamed" sources is inane.

Actually, if we did wrong because there were no WMD, than surely we must make amends by re-installing the Saddam Hussein regime! (sarcasm)

"Could have", "maybe", "possibly", "you never know", "probably", "intelligence reports prove" .............. the same reasoning Hitler took over Germany about 70 years ago.
