Absolutely correct.
The Dems didn't even read the bill they passed and didn't realize that it gave the GOP a HUGE fundraising advantage.
G.W. knew it would be struck down eventually (which Dems are now praying for) but even until that happened it was in our favor.
G.W. doesn't outsmart these guys because they are liberal. He does it because they are so knee jerk. They react with rage or try to play to uninformed baser instincts, not realizing the trap they are making for themselves. If we don't learn to think first, then act, someone (like Clintoon) will take a page from his book and play us the same way.
Have faith. Have patience. G.W.'s batting about .980 so far and if your man enough to admit when you misunderestimate him, as oppossed to just laughing at the Dems who do, you might realize THIS MAN IS *#&!ing BRILLIANT !!!

Ooops. I meant to say, watch the parents of the creep sue--Big Time. He be dead.
I getting this thread confused with another story wherein the alleged perp breaking into a home was only injured.

Hoooah! It's o.k. to shoot a burglar in Georgia.
My daddy shot one who was climbing in the window of the bedroom next to mine (I was 12), and the only thing the nice policeman did was inform him with a grin that the word would get out on the street pretty quick, and he wouldn't be much troubled with burglars in the future.
He was right. My parents lived in the city of Atlanta for another 30 years or so, and they never locked a door and left their keys in the car.

It's nice but I never went for the engravings. I wouldn't mind my initials on my 1911 but I would have to put them in a place that wasn't on the frame or slide. Maybe on the bottom of the mainspring housing.

Why sign it at all? Had he not done so, Congress could have declared it law after (IIRC) ten days, but the POS wouldn't have GW's signature on it.
exactly.

Saw a story on FOX this last week, fellow was going to protect his house/family in Bagdad. What does he pull out to show the pressman?
Colt Govt Mod 45 ACP - M1911A1!
Evcn in Iraq they understand when the chips are down, a Colt 45 in hand is better than 100 cops 15 min away.....
Plus, I kinds like the sound it makes when the slide stips a round off the magazine - really loud in the dark, if you know what I mean....

I actually work in the same office of the financee of the dead guy. Needless to say she wasn't at work today.. but the story that went around the office is that the guy got totally blind drunk at a Cubs game and apparently thought he was breaking into his own house.
Now... whether or not that's true I have no idea, and i'm sure you can put tons of holes in that... but dont be so quick to believe what you read in the people. I know from another major story that happened in chicago that involved my family, the news really isn't all that accurate.

Good for your daddy! Talk about takin care of the "bad guys." Kids need all the protection that they can get. Liberals and liberal laws against honest gun owners are clueless in the face of dangerous criminal behavior. Libs mostly make excuses and garner more sympathy for the perpetrator than the victim. (The guy couldn't help himself. He was an abused child...or a minority...or a whatever... Yeah, right.) Your daddy and any other concerned parent can't always sit still and wait for the cops to show up in those kinds of situations.

I like the picture, someone on FR told me that the President often carries a gun on his person. On the ranch, maybe, but I'd be surprised if he did much at other times and places. However Hillary's Heroine, Elanor Roosevelt, actually did carry one, both as first lady and afterwards. The idead for doing so apparently came from the Secret Service, who she overuled when they wanted to provide her with a driver/guard. She preffered to *drive herself* where she wanted and needed to go. Can you imagine Herself, wearing "Old Krusty", driving herself about with no guards, when she was first B***h or now as the Senior Senator from New York? (Yes I know Lizzard Face has been in the Senate longer)

Interesting, when you consider Hillary Clinton often tried to compare herself to Eleanor Roosevelt. I do not know if the left found this comparison an attractive one, however.
