Are you sure about that Seinfeld episode? I thought they sent him packing.

You caught me.

I am not a Seinfeld afficionado.

I read about that episode last week in an article about an HBO series starring the co-creator of Seinfeld - I don't remember the guy's name, but that incident really happened to him when he was a writer for Saturday Night Live. When his skit got pulled for the fourth Saturday night in a row he got mad and quit, then thought better of it on the way home. The real Kramer gave him the "it never happened" idea, and it worked for him.

It sounds like a hilarious episode but I could never watch Seinfeld for the same reason I could never watch Woody Allen... too close to home.

Yeah...I'm not saying it's a family show or anything, but it's such a mix of reality and unreality that I find it hilarious.

The two of them were on Fridays together. David wrote for SNL, too, but Richards never was on the show. I wonder why.

That's a true story in real life. Larry David recounted it some recent broadcast (I'm trying to remember where) but says it really worked for him.
At the time, David was a writer on SNL and the producer would not use some of the scripts he really thought were funny and one day he blew and quit. Upon reflection he realized he screwed up and (the real) Kramer said to act as if it didn't happen. NBC bought it. George's employer didn't.
