I was just wondering why noone had brought this up. I personally know of many couples who have been waiting for quite a long time on the adoption list. There are a great many couples out there just waiting to take care of a baby if only someone could be inconvenienced to carry him/her to term and have the courage to let them go.

I agree only it is not courage, it is love. The best gift a mother can give her child is a good mommy and daddy. If she personally cannot give that, there are millions of couples waiting to do it.

As a counselor in a pregnancy center, what I often hear from clients is "I could never give my child away" but on the other hand, they consider aborting it. I had one say she would never have an abortion again since she had serious complications from her last one, but she would take the morning after pill... Who wants to talk LOGIC to these folks? It's more complicated than that, especially when the disgruntled mother-to-be is sitting right in front of you.

Exactly the point I made in my post -- my sister and her husband are one of those couples who desperately wanted to adopt a baby, and fianlly miraculously were able to.
