You have it exactly backwards. The language used to justify killing a fetus, namely that which makes the fetus something less than human and therefore killable, is the same type of language used by genocidal governments to justify killing off ethnic groups declared to be subhuman. Government should exist primarily to protect individual rights and lives - and a fetus is an individual with the same right to exist as its mother.

Fewer than half of Americans agree with your premise, though all certainly realize that they were once fetuses themselves. I don't care to empower government to overrule individual citizens in such important and personal matters.
