As background, you may recall that SCO started life as Caldera, a startup company selling a commercial version of the open source Linux operating system Uhh..no it didn't. The Santa Cruz Operation ("SCO") was selling SCO Unix and Open Desktop for a long time prior to young Mr. Torvalds publishing his Christmastime workpiece...Caldera bought the Santa Cruz Operation and changed the name to SCO. SCO itself has been around since '79.
